Bat-Eared Fox Original Drawing-elusive animals of Africa

About the Original

The drawing is done on 330gsm acid free cartridge in stippling style using Artist Pens.

As the name indicates, this fox has unusually enormous ears in proportion to its head, like those of many bats. They are most active at night and are important in the regulation of populations of termites. They also eat lizards, dung beetles, small rodents, eggs and chicks. Their ears are filled with blood and aid in thermoregulation. They live in arid regions and get their water from the arthropods they feed on.
